Bierwagen's Donner Trail Fruit Chris, Jim & Debbie Bierwagen |
![]() |
Located within the small community of Chicago Park in the Sierra Nevada Foothills, Bierwagen’s Donner Trail Fruit is one of the last remaining old fashioned family-owned and operated fruit growing operations in Nevada County. Located on historical pear growing land the farm is currently growing fruits such as Apples, Peaches, and Raspberries, and vegetables such as Tomatoes, Cucumbers, Corn, and pick-your-own-pumpkins during the fall months. Under the operation of 4th and 5th generation Bierwagen’s the farm boasts award winning organic peaches, scenic open space perfect for special events and gatherings, and offers exciting opportunities to the community to enjoy the farm at their annual Harvest Festival and School Field Trips. In addition to the farm the family also owns and operates the Happy Apple Kitchen restaurant which offers its customers classic American lunches, old-fashioned fruit pies, and homemade cakes and jams. The restaurant has come to be known as the destination for a perfect homemade lunch in the country amongst the Bierwagen Apple trees for the past 30 years.
