Living Lands Agrarian Network is a 501c3 non-profit organization. Its mission is to serve as a network of ecologically-minded farmers and community members working to strengthn our community's ties and connections to the land, support agrarian education and ecological literacy, and carefully steward the land on which we farm and live.
Current intentions of Living Lands are to:
1. Provide farmers with access to farmland
2. Maintain contractual agreements with "Land Providers"
3. Maintain contractual agreements with "Independent Farmers"
4. Improve, through financial support, existing on-farm infrastructure and acquire new parcels of land with the intent of bringing more land into production.
5. Adminster and financially support an eight-month farming Internship program in collaboration with growers in the network.
6. Offer workshops related to farming and sustainability to the general public.
7. Organize fundraising events throughout the year.
8. Write grants to generate support for educational programs and infrastructure projects.
9. Serve as a network of support for farmers and community members in their agricultural endeavors.
Products: Vegetables, dry beans, grains, cut flowers, dried
flowers, wreaths, lamb, eggs, sauerkraut, “carapeño”
live-fermented hot sauce and more. We use gentle,
sustainable methods, including cover crops, crop
rotation, manure, on-site composting, compost
tea and animal rotations to grow a year-round
food system. We also teach gardening workshops
throughout the year.
CSA Subscriptions: Pick-up location at In The Kitchen
on Zion Street, Nevada City, Tuesdays 4-6 pm only.
Vegetable CSA and/or local meat CSA including pork, lamb
and chicken.
FARMERS MARKETS
: Saturday morning in Nevada City.
RESTAURANTS: New Moon Café, Ike’s Quarter Café.
